- * criticizing myself for not feeling as loving as I think I should

I’m getting so excited about the new line. As I write this, our website is being created and we have about a dozen designs done. I will start working on the photography next week, and will post some pictures here when they’re done. We are changing the name of the company a bit to Be Something New. Everything is getting a fresh look including the logo. One of our designers at Atomic Curve has been working on everything for me and she is doing such an amazing job, it is going to be hard to pick which direction we will go. Working with my daughter is a dream come true, and I must say we make a great team. We have created some beautiful things together, and I can’t wait to show the world our work. When I get the new website up I will post the link so you can all go and check it out. I have included my four favorite logos below, which one do you like?

My husband just started a new blog called Rapidly Branding. His blog will contain great marketing advice and I hope you will all stop by and pay him a visit. He has been in the marketing and branding game for over 25 years and has worked on accounts ranging from fortune 500 companies to small start-ups. He runs Atomic Curve and is also the master mind of Branddoozie. To top it all off he is the greatest husband on earth, so even if you aren’t in need of marketing advise stop by and say hi!
You can tell him I sent you.

My daughter has been trying to get me to design a new line of headpieces for a while now. A week ago we got it started. It is still bridal, but consists of headbands and combs with a vantage feel. It’s really fun to be doing this with her and I’m so excited about the six pieces we have created together so far. We hope to finish the new line quickly and get it out to my bridal stores, but we also plan on creating a web site for ourselves along with a site on Etsy. I love being creative again, and together I know we will produce amazing things. So stay tuned and I will post some picture of our designs soon!

I love Southern California. Here we can be at the beach in 20 minutes, the desert or the mountains in an hour or two, and our weather is almost always great. People laugh at us because we think 60 degrees is freezing. I’m a third generation native, and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Having said that it’s NOVEMBER and it’s 90 degrees. I’m ready for fall, I miss my sweaters and I want to burn my shorts. Every year at this time it’s the same, we are greeted with heat waves and horrible winds usually accompanied by fires. It’s the price we pay for living in paradise, but I’m so ready for fall. Somehow cooking thanksgiving dinner in a sundress just doesn’t seem right. I’m dreaming of a rainy day, a fire in my fireplace, and some cozy sweets! I may have to wait awhile.

Today is my birthday. Yes another year has slid away. It’s not been too bad of a year. We worked a little too hard, but that’s nothing new. Our retirement account did not work for us liked we had hoped, but then everyone is in that same boat. I was going to loose 10 lbs and instead I gained a few, thank you menopause. We finally got Branddoozie launched, and daughter graduated early from CAL, with honors making me proud as usual. To top it off, I just figured out that I’m one year younger than I thought I was. I spent the past week thinking I was turning 49, the last year of my 40’s. Actually, I was looking forward to being one step closer to my 50’s. Ready for a new decade of my life, one I hope with less sadness, less work, and more time with family and friends. I am instead turning 48! I do think getting a whole year for your birthday is pretty cool and I think I’ll keep the gift.

Last weekend we met friends for our second annual Napa Valley wine tasting weekend, it was heaven. We stayed for the second time at the most wonderful Inn, I highly recommend this place, the people are wonderful and take great care of you, making you feel right at home. We ate great food, drank even better wine, and got to enjoy it all with wonderful friends. Friends who moved away and we miss like hell, so it was great to spend some quality time with them. We had so much fun that I have been recovering from it all week, and I’m so glad that the weekend is almost here. It has been a great month filled with three mini vacations, but I think I need a nice quiet weekend at home. I plan on doing a lot of nothing, maybe a hike or a bike ride, a little laundry, water my pots in the back yard, and hopefully watch CAL beat USC, Go Bears! I hope you all have a great weekend

I am so glad this day has finally arrived. This day that means all the negative ads are over, and all the recorded messages clogging my answering machine and interrupting my dinner will be no more. The Elections are over! Peace will come to my world. I hate all the negativity this battle has forced upon us. I’ve gotten to the point that I am almost ashamed of my country and how our leaders have been behaving. I only hope they can now stop being politicians and start working how to keep this great county of ours on track. Unfortunately I think no mater who wins it will be business as usual, too much party politicks, too much frivolous spending of our hard earned money, and too much finger pointing. I hope God will bless America and help our leaders become just that, leaders not politicians.

I’m being a copycat today, I’ve seen several people do this on their blogs, and I thought it might be a fun thing to do. I looked up some of the crazy search words people used to found my blog
“I’m hanging in there”
Child lost leg
Crashing waves dream
Cute banks
In home punching bag
Punchingbag boobs
Whatat’s redo short cute for word
I’m sure Tips From Home was not what these people were looking for, but some of them even stayed and read a bit.

Go ahead click on the link and give it a try, let me know what you think!

Here’s my card, It’s a little hard to see with the white on white, but you get the idea
